Matt Bates wrote, performed, and recorded all his songs in his home studio. Kaleidoscope is his first album.

In 2014 matt was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer. He was just 25 years of age.

His 2nd album Fightback was recorded after his diagnosis. He received the finished CD just five days before he died.
